ABOUT CIUDAD QUESADA

At the beginning of the seventies Mr. Justo Quesada Samper, founded Ciudad Quesada in Alicante, Spain. A large development of villas, Apartments and townhouses known as an urbanization. The urbanization has now developed over the years into a beautiful town that is now home to thousands of families from all over Europe.

Ciudad Quesada has grown since the 1970's, and now comes with over 50 shops, bars, restaurants, a golf course and its own water park. Alicante and Murcia airports are just 30 miles away and the nearest beach is within 10 minutes drive. If you are a golfer, then there are many professional golf courses right on the doorstep to Quesada, all in Alicante; Villamartin, Las ramblas and Campoamar, not to mention the famous La Manga golf course. The local Aqua park and surrounding open markets are open daily during the Summer months.

Alicante is a marvelous place, and close to Quesada is an abundance of flamingos and other wildlife based on the saltlakes which are just a few miles away, and the whole area is classed the second healthiest place in the world mainly due to these saltlakes. One of the greatest tourist attractions of Torrevieja has always been its variety of entertainment for families and young people. There are more than a hundred night bars, the majority concentrated in the so-called El Baluarte area in the La Punta district, which have become a major attraction for thousands of people from all over the world.

Ciudad Quesada started out as just another urbanization, but now has developed so much that it finally got it's own Town Hall which has changed it's status.

Now the town Quesada, or Ciudad Quesada, is located on south facing slopes with commanding views over the salt lakes of Torrevieja, as mentioned above, one is an actual working salt lake considered to be the most important in Europe, the other being a nature reserve. Beyond them the mediterranean sea glistens on the horizon. Further views take in the mountains and inland plains covered with orange and lemon groves filling the air with a delicate aroma in flowering seasons.

Ciudad Quesada is really a secluded paradise which has made it very popular for ex pats setting up home. So expect to see quite a lot of English people enjoying a town that has a real mediterranean feel and a relaxed, warming, friendly athmosphere.

Ciudad Quesada is only a short car ride away from some typically Spanish towns in Alicante including Torrevieja, Guadamar del Segura, Elche (with one of Europe’s largest palm forests), Santa Pola; famous for its seafood, Alicante; an exciting Spanish city and Benidorm, which is only one hours drive to the north.

There are over one hundred excellent beaches lining the coastline of the Costa Blanca, with over 40 of them awarded the blue flag for their excellent water quality and clean beaches. Quesada is just 10 minutes drive from the blue flag Guadamar beaches and plenty of water activities if required!

Many people visit Ciudad Quesada in Alicante and instantly fall in love with the town and the people. Because of this instant liking, many people would like to 'live the dream' and this is where they all want to come! It is a very popular area and when you visit, you'll also instantly see why.
